Kincaid was incorporated on January 15th 1915.
The village was named after James R. Kincaid of Springfield. J.R Kincaid purchased the land for the Peabody Coal Company.
Approximately 300 people inhabited the area prior to the town's incorporation.
The bank building erected in 1913 was the area's first business.
Jack Center was the 1st Mayor of Kincaid.
The Kincaid C. & I.M Railroad Depot was built May 15th 1914.
